Seeds

Good morning ...

It's time for another word prompt at

This week Robyn has set the prompt and she's picked the word
Seeds
Very appropriate for this time of year I think ... seeds are just about everywhere

I saw this 'sugar stealer' caught between the flowers ... I love seeing them float around - They are bigger than the seeds from Dandelions ...

I think these seed balls looks so pretty ... probably more so than the flower ... My DH can't stand Dandelions ... which is a shame as the child in me still likes to blow them

We had a wonderful array of Cosmos this year ... grown from seed ... they were planted in containers and I've collected the seeds from the centres to grow next summer

These are seed pods from my Sweet Peas ... they didn't do too well this year, maybe next year they will be better...
And finally a photo of the Clematis... Like delicate pinwheels the fluffy seeds have already be blown along with the wind

Isn't nature just wonderful?

Of course there are lots of seeds ... many that are edible ... so I'm looking forward to seeing your photos this week ...

Have a lovely Sunday ...

Autumn

Hello!
Oh my goodness we had rotten weather yesterday ... So much rain and it was really gloomy
I made a card for 2 challenges and it took all day for the glossy finish to dry and then it didn't really photograph well ...

So, the challenges are Mod Squad

This week it's a Fruitful Harvest Challenge

and

Where we are asked to use Stencils

Here's my card...

I used a new stencil by Scrap FX which I bought at Merly Impressions ... Can you believe this was only £1.85? I am impressed!
I used molding paste and sprinkled it with glitter whilst still wet

All the fruit and leaves were cut from white cardstock on my cameo and I coloured each one using a variety of ink pads and the sponging method before using dimensional magic and glossy accents

The sentiment was from a stamp set that came free with a magazine last year - Hopefully you can see a little of the gloss here

I'll be back tomorrow with my post for Our Beautiful World

Till then be safe

Almost September

Hello...

I can hardly believe it's almost September ... that means more birthdays on the horizon

I had a little time yesterday to make a couple of cards ...  Here's one of them

I have a ton of papers to use up so I thought I'd make a card that uses paper and acetate together with a couple of die cuts

I also got some new sequins ... pretty yellows and pinks amongst them

... in the hope they would lead me away from my usual blue and green shades

Thanks so much for your kind wishes ... I'm still not feeling 100% and my sweet friend Pat had a fall which left her with some cracked ribs so we haven't seen each other this week. Hopefully we are getting together tomorrow for some crafting ... I'll bake some buns and a cake just in case we decide to just sit and chat ...

Wishing you a beautiful weekend

Till soon

Page 2

Hello and good morning!

The sun is shining here and we have blue skies ... Which is great as I'm off to lunch with my GF's

I have a second journal page to share ... I used papers from a much loved pad by Me & My Big Ideas (Mixed Media Mambi Sheets) Though I've used these papers in my card making and other projects ... they are brilliant for kick starting an art journal

I added some acrylic paint here and there using bubble wrap

... and a strip of Washi tape together with a metal butterfly that I rubbed paint into

I stamped flowers and leaves and added dimensional paint to them and finished with some burlap ribbon and flower plus I cut out and stapled  a few odd pieces

Well, that's me for today ... I hope you have a good one

Till soon

Art Journal

Hey there ... How are you all?

I'm not feeling too good, think I caught a chill at the BBQ... Our summer is over and being in denial we sat out and braved the chilly evening ... now I'm paying for it Lol!

I've been saying for the longest time that I'd like to start an art journal ... Finally I have

I just didn't know where to start really or how I wanted my journal to be ... The first page was always going to be the hardest so I've kept it simple...
I was inspired to begin my journal after watching videos by the amazingly talented Shari Carroll and I liked the idea of doing back to back pages ... This is my first page

Whilst being inspired by one of Shari's creations I went my own way using stamps I had and bits and pieces from my scraps

I like the idea that I can still do some stitching using this method of putting the pages together ... and I'm hoping to use up a whole lot of scraps and die cuts I have laying around ...

... Not to mention papers, washi tape and modelling paste

Now I've started I can't wait to do another page ...

Have yourselves a lovely day

Shake It Up

Hello ...

I'm hosting the challenge this week at City Crafter  and the challenge I've chosen for us is to
make a shaker card

I'm sure you've all seen the many different types there are in Blogland ... I had a notion to make a 'shaker' jar ... but of course I didn't realise how difficult this would be to photograph ...

... I mean acetate, vellum and silver card stock - not to mention shiny sequins ... Come on Ros, don't you ever learn?

The sentiment is actually stamped onto the inside of the card so you are looking through the acetate

I cut the jar on my Cameo which allowed me to make it a decent size

Our Guest Designer this week, winner of challenge week 215, is Synnove... A very talented Norwegian lady ... Please click on her name to be taken to her blog

The winner of this week's challenge will also be offered a GD spot with us here at CCCB so I hope you'll come and "shake it up" with us

Wishing you a lovely day

Home....

Hi there ... Did you have a good weekend?
We went to a BBQ at my best friend's house yesterday ... The weather wasn't very kind but we had fun ... I haven't laughed so much in ages ... I love my girlfriends.

This afternoon my brother and my great nephew Ross will be paying us a visit so I'll keep this short ... I just have a card to share

A NBUS stamp from Inkylicious together with a little water colouring using Gelatos

My sewing machine doesn't like vellum ... hence the crooked stitches .. I think perhaps it's the needle or maybe it's about time I got the machine serviced

Looking at this card has given me an idea for another one ... hmmm, better jot it down as I'm liable to forget these days Lol!

Have a beautiful day and thanks so much for stopping by

Till soon

Gates

Good morning!

Time for a new word prompt at

Chosen for us by the lovely Manuela ... The prompt is

Gate

Now here's some famous Gates ... Not that far from where I live is Mendips ... The house that John Lennon grew up in ... This is the house with the original features including the Gates.
Every day of the week tourists from all over the world make their way to Mendips ... some take the tour bus others take local transport

This set of Gates was in Majorca ... They have many ornate Gates

I often wished I kept my DH behind these Gates at Palma Cathedral ...

My life would have been so peaceful Lol!

This last photo always tears at my heart ...

No longer able to walk far my beautiful dog Holly would sit all day behind that baby Gate waiting for Mikey to return from the USA ... A few days after this was taken and just 2 weeks before Mikey's homecoming I had to make the decision to put my beloved girl to sleep ... She had cancer and I couldn't bear to see her suffer ... I still have that Gate

So there you have it ... My photos for this week's prompt
I hope you will share with us this week and take a look at all the photos up on the Blog

Enjoy your day

Saturday Smile

Hello and Happy Saturday

The football season has started here and later this afternoon my DH will be going off to see his team play ... I love my peaceful time!
It's cold and wet but I don't mind ... more reason to play with my supplies or maybe catch an afternoon movie ... Oh the choices lol!

In between DT work yesterday I put together a card from my scraps ...

I often die cut something then change my mind about the colour... hence I end up with things I don't use ... Like this smile word die and the chloe stem

I've always admired the cards I see with the curved front and really wanted to try it so I used my Cameo to cut one ...

As it happens the challenge at JUGS this week is a photo challenge

It's such an interesting photo with so much to go on ... I hadn't seen this photo when I made my card and I'm glad I went for those colours as they are in the photo and I have a flower so hopefully this will qualify for the challenge...

I hope you have a lovely day ... I'll be back tomorrow with photos for

Till then ... take care

PTI Design Tips

Hello!

How are you all?
I have had a really busy week at home ... just the usual, cleaning cooking and baking ...
This week I've made a 3 loaves of bread, 24 sticky buns and a lemon and blueberry desert ... so I'm still being creative... And I had Pat come around for a lesson in how I made This set

Today I have a card to share using the PTI design tip from Maile Belles which involves cut out panels

Unfortunately my stamps from PTI are very limited so I used a holly stamp by Dovecraft to make this Christmas card ... Yes, you heard me right ... A Christmas card Lol!

I just thought it would be a good stamp to use for this technique and I really like the result

I did use a PTI ink (Ripe Avocado) to colour my holly leaves with

I'm going to have to invest in some more stamps I think because I like this effect and I guess you've noticed that I'm still bewitched by blue and green colours

I hope your day is going well ... It's almost the weekend ... Have a good one!

Till soon

City Crafter 225

Hello

This week at City Crafter we have an Inspiration Photo challenge for you
Kirsty is our hostess and this is her photo choice

Isn't that just the cutest? I absolutely love those colours - the grey and kraft beige and I spotted those little red and turquoise flowers on the sweet little girls hat ... So it was the colours I went with

I randomly scored my grey cardstock top and bottom to mimic the pattern in the little cardigan

I think I captured all the colours here ... The sentiment is an old Bo Bunny sticker I had hiding in my stash and I used textured cardstock and fabrics to reflect the feel of the photo

Our Guest Designer this week is Joanne - winner of week 216 ... click on the link to go visit her lovely blog

Joanne and my fello DT have some beautiful creations to inspire you up on the City Crafter Blog ... hop on over and take a look ... We're looking forward to seeing your interpretation of Kirsty's lovely inspiration photo so please come and join us

Have a beautiful day

Blue & Green

Hello...

It's been a while since I got to create something and I love blue and green together so when I saw the challenge at

I had to play along ...

Whilst over at AAA Cards this week

The challenge is to CASe this card by Jane Taylor

Here's my card

I used blue and green mists for my background and layered some flowers on to a navy blue die cut wreath

... A couple of die cut ferns and a silver thread bow complete my centre piece

The sentiment is by PTI stamped in ink by Gina K. designs
I also added some glossy accents onto a few petals ... simply because this flower reminds me of a waterlily, and I couldn't resist adding a few sequins too.

I hope you're having a good start to the week - It's cool and wet here and it's been very windy too ...

Thanks for looking in - Take care

~ Ros ~

Signage

Hello and good morning!

Today at  Our Beautiful World   Milagros has chosen our prompt and this week it's

Signage

I dug ot a few photos from my archives for this...

Looking at the signs here you would probably thin that this is a bar in France when in fact it's a bar in the centre of Cork in Ireland...

... and this is just like any high street shopping centre in the UK with those signs when in fact this was taken in Gibraltar

This sign I found in a beer garden in Cornwall, and here are some more signage from Cornwall...

In case you are wondering a Quoit is an ancient burial ground

A vintage van ... I used to eat those sweets when I was a child!
And this one I've shared before but it's worth sharing again

My fellow DT have some more photos for you on the Blog ... We'd love it if you shared yours ...

Till soon
